FAQ

At F&N Worldwide, we want you to go into your move with as much knowledge as possible. If you have any burning questions, check out our frequently asked questions (FAQs) below:

The price of your move is determined by the volume, distance, packing materials, transport and labour requirements. If you are going overseas we also have to add in the shipping, freight, clearance and delivery charges. All of this will be explained in the quotation and accompanying letter.

We always prefer a visit to your home, particularly for large moves. However, if you know the volume or it’s just a few items, we can prepare a quote without a visit. We can also supply a tick-box list by post or email for you to complete and return – if you take this option it may be wise to talk to us about packing requirements if you would like your items professionally packed.

You should have your quotation within three days of supplying the list or us visiting you. If you need it quickly we’ll email it back the next day.

The timetable will be important here as some local authorities need longer than others to arrange. We are happy for you to do it or we can arrange on your behalf. Costs are passed on without a mark-up.

A minimum of two weeks is normal but if time catches up with you, just call – we always do our best to book a move if we can.

We have a mixture of vehicles – the chosen truck will suit the size of the move. As well as single pantechnicons, we run truck and trailer combination units and articulated vehicles so we can accommodate the very biggest removal.

We are flexible and can usually accommodate last minute changes in the timetable. There may be costs involved but we keep them to a minimum.

The surveyor will advise or we can help in the office. If the budget is tight you can do all the packing into your own boxes. Otherwise, we’ll supply the cartons and pack/unpack all or part for you. For overseas moves we always wrap the furniture and it’s included in the quote so there are no hidden costs.

This is a specialised business best left to experts. We have pet moving partners – just ask and we’ll include details in your quote.

No problem – we can keep your items safe in our warehouse or arrange storage with an agent when it arrives. Just ask us for the options.

Common sense rules here – highly inflammables, food (although new tins and jars are acceptable), plants and livestock are the obvious ones. If in doubt – ask us.

Visitors are welcome at any time during opening hours by appointment only.

We keep in touch about arrival times of shipment and our local agent or representative will also contact you to arrange necessary paperwork.

Once the vessel details have been confirmed, you can track the container through the shipping line’s website.

If your move is too small for your own container, we can arrange to co-load the things with others going to the same destination. In practice this is only good for countries with a large amount of traffic – Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA for example. It also works for regular European moves where you can share space on the truck. The savings made will keep the quote costs down.
